Submit your work to our 40th Anniversary Book

The final submission form for the CW 40th Anniversary Book is now live. Members should visit this page to submit the project details, photos, and drafts of their completed piece (or set of pieces).

If you would like to contribute, but haven’t yet signed up, it is not too late! The deadline for completing your project is June 1, 2017: all the details are available here.

Calling all CW members…

To mark the 40th Anniversary of CW in 2018, we will be publishing our first full-color book. Eight Shafts: Beyond the Beginning will provide a modern look at using eight shafts and 8-shaft combinations in inspiring ways through finished pieces.

You can see an outline of the project here. There are links to further details and to the sign-up form. Note that you will need to be logged in to the website to proceed.

Submission is open to all CW members, and we hope that you will feel as excited about this project as we do. You do not need to be a master weaver, published author, award winner, or known teacher to participate. As you consider a piece to enter, focus on what takes the work “beyond the beginning” and into something uniquely yours.

Greatest Hits

We are delighted to announce that Complex Weavers’ Greatest Hits is back in print!

This book, a compilation of CW members’ favourite drafts, was published in 2000 in honor of the 21st birthday of Complex Weavers. It includes drafts from 2 to ? shafts, drafts for drawlooms, kumihimo, tablet weaving, and passementerie. Each draft includes threading or block profile, tieup, treadling or peg plan (both when possible), and a drawdown if applicable. Suggested uses for the draft are included. The author of each design is given.
The book also includes a CD with all the drafts in .wif format.

It is now available for $34.95 plus shipping from the Complex Weavers Marketplace. (For international shipping estimates contact Amy Norris, Merchandise Chair before ordering)
