The Textile Society of America are inviting everyone who cares about the field of textiles to share their perspective through an online survey. The findings of the survey will be used to inform the TSA’s strategy for future programs and membership initiatives. This survey is open to anyone with an interest in textiles, regardless of whether or not they have participated in TSA in the past. Click here to participate. CW members in southern California may be interested in an exhibition of tapestries by the Ramses Wissa Wassef Art Centre which is on from Jan 14 – March 31, 2017. The exhibit Garden Tapestries is hosted at the San Diego Botanic Garden in Encinitas, CA, which is open every day from 9 am – 5 pm. In addition, there will be a preview and lecture about the tapestries on Thursday 12 January at 4:00 pm. See the Botanic Garden website for more information.

CW members in the south-eastern United States are planning a one track regional gathering in Yadkinville, NC. All CW members are invited. This is a gathering to connect members in between the CW Seminars, the next seminar being planned for the summer of 2018. For more information on the gathering, continue reading.

Complex Weavers is delighted to announce that Susan Bowman has agreed to chair Complexity 2018, our biennial exihibit. Susan has previously served on the Complexity committee and chaired two acclaimed international exhibits for the Pikes Peak Weavers Guild. Her own work has been shown in juried exhibits since 1995. You can read more about Susan’s life in weaving in the September 2016 newsletter.
Designing Weavers is holding its annual exhibit and holiday boutique, November 19th and 20th, at the Sierra Madre Woman’s Club in Sierra Madre, CA. CW members are cordially invited to drop by and join them to view, discuss and (even) touch the latest in fiber art and fashion.
