Color in Composition

304 Saturday AM

We will begin by looking at the design elements of weaving in a larger format, how each element becomes part of the overall finished composition. Using block designs and color to create depth in a design, I will share examples of foreground and background viewed as positive and negative space. I will illustrate how the show-through in twill and satin blocks and summer and winter can be used to blend colors, explore ways to energize or calm a design by applying symmetry and asymmetry to block designs, color, or both, and walk through the steps to realize a design.

This session will be captured for the Weavers Handshake, CW’s online, on-demand learning platform.
