You might not realize that Complex Weavers is a totally volunteer organization with very low membership dues and no paid employees. With those dues, a tremendous number of services are offered to members: Three issues of the Complex Weavers Journal per year, Opportunities to join study groups, Biennial Seminars, Up-to-date information on what is happening in the weaving world through its newsletter and website, and many other benefits.
The organization has members with a wide variety of desires and needs. Some members like to write for the Journal. Some want to share ideas with others as they participate in study groups. Some members are willing to devote time and expertise performing organizational tasks necessary to keep CW running. Others want a vehicle to exhibit their work. In 2012, the CW Board decided to sponsor an international exhibit to provide members with the opportunity to be juried and gain recognition in the art world. That exhibit is named “Complexity”.
