Lace Weaves

Fees: $5 for US, $8 for Canadian residents and
$10 for others.
Fees subject to change as needed to cover costs.
All fees in US funds.
Publication: One yearly newsletter including
instructions for two lace weaves, from which
samples will be woven by members for the sample
exchange. Members can choose which of the two weaves
they want to weave. Members download the newsletter
from the Yahoo Group site. The newsletter is published
in October.
Computer: An e-list on Yahoo Groups is
available for group communication.
Sample Exchange: One mandatory sample exchange,
deadline September 15. Members will be expected
to submit the requisite number of samples with a
draft and information sheet for each sample.

Membership: Limit 25. Dues need to be submitted
by September. Membership closes Jan 31. The group
runs from October to September.

The group runs on a five-year cycle. This study group is repeating the cycle of laces studied and will end in 2014.
- Year 1 -- Bronson and Bouquet Weaves (Brooks Bouquet)
- Year 2 -- Huck and Eyelet Weaves (Spanish lace)
- Year 3 -- Swedish Lace and Traditional Drafts Woven in a Lacy Manner
- Year 4 -- Leno and Canvas Weaves
- Year 5 -- Anasazi Weft-Wrap, Spaced Warp and Weft, Basket Weave
New members are welcome to join at anytime.
Members may stay with the group as long as desired.
This study group will deal with lace made on a loom, excluding bobbin lace, macramé, tatting and other similar lace techniques. Laces will include the traditional lace weaves, such as Spot Bronson, Atwater-Bronson, Huck, Leno, Swedish lace, lacey treadlings of any other weave structure, hand-manipulated laces such as brooks bouquet and Spanish openwork and lacey fabrics made through denting.
Open to all levels of weavers. Members should have basic weaving skills.
