This group was started in 1994 by Desiree Koslin. The time period covered is approx. 500- 1500 AD. It is not limited to Eurasia. The membership not only discusses the textiles themselves but how to weave like items with modern equipment. The weaving methods and equipment used to make the originals are also explored. The primary method of information exchange is the newsletter. Written or woven contribution from each member yearly. Newsletters distributed on paper, PDF on website, and on CD-ROM. To join: fees as above plus participation. All members to submit at least one article or sample per year. Articles can be about textiles, textile producing equipment, recreation of textiles, or drafts/samples. There are no weaving expertise or loom type requirements. Check http://www.medievaltextiles.org for an index of the newsletters and more information. |
