[1-10] [11-20] [21-30] [31-40] [41-50] [51-60] [61-70] [71-75]

  1. CW-only e-list
  2. More study groups on other topics
  3. Online-only study groups
  4. Smaller, more focused conferences, perhaps in conjunction with the regional conferences
  5. A journal without the waste of the heavy cover and 25-lb paper pages.
  6. Adding to above re the time sensitive material. Two options suit me. To send as attachments .pdf format not as .doc. Also could use a way for members to go to a secure login site for membership only for the time sensitive material.
  7. Also should be a way for the CW members to opt in or out of the e-mail communication. I am not sure how many members may not have connections to Internet. However one can get connected via local library resources/computers.
  8. As I explained earlier, I feel guilty taking a week of vacation for myself when I should spend it with family. That said, I hate missing the Seminar. But as I understand it, every participant receives a "book" of all the presenters' topics regardless whether they attended that "workshop". I wouldn't mind paying for that information. Couldn't you have a category that costs less than registration but understandably more than just printing costs, so that those who can't attend seminars could avail themselves of the presenters' information??? Thanks for your consideration.
  9. Bigger/more frequent Seminars? Maybe... I enjoy the seminars - like their supplement to Convergence. It would be nice to have a bigger enrollment allowed to be able to offer it to more people, but that would mean losing the coziness. It does seem to be growing in popularity though. A hard issue.

  10. Can’t think of any ... just wish I had more time and could commit to a study group. Soon, God willing.
  11. Color photos in the Journal are VERY IMPORTANT to me.
  12. Color photos would be really nice. I enjoy the Journal very much. I'll be going to my first CW Seminar this year, so can't comment on that yet.
  13. Don’t know yet
  14. For us far away from the libraries it would be wonderful to borrow books electronically
  15. Gatherings at Midwest Weavers Conference and so on would be nice, a bit closer to home than the seminars linked to Convergence. Not everyone can easily travel and/or have the funds to do so, but that lessen the desire to communicate with other CW members.
  16. Perhaps offer seminars on DVD (along with written materials) for people unable to attend. Of course, attending in person would be first choice. (Of course!) Written materials, too.
  17. Having the Journal online and archived with index (website & DVD) would be an acceptable alternative to printing and mailing.
  18. I am very satisfied! Just keep up the great work!!
  19. I applaud those of you who serve Complex Weavers.
  20. I like it when Complex Weavers offers get-togethers at local meetings. A group on Weave Tech is trying to arrange a lunch at CNCH in April. An excellent opportunity to meet others and I plan to attend.

  21. I see the way ahead for CW is through the website. I wouldn't mind even having the Journal available on line. You can still have the web site available to general public for advertizing etc and have membership pass word protected, or a separated website for members. You would still need to have some hard copies of the Journal available for those who are not into computers.
  22. I think CW has enough on its plate considering it is totally volunteer. Do a few things well. I cannot see anything in the above list I would eliminate, so taking on something else doesn't seem advisable to me.
  23. I think it would be to make the journal an online publication completely. Then you can have color and save postage and printing.
  24. I think you do an amazing job with the services you offer with an all-volunteer organization.
  25. I wish that material offered by study group participants were more carefully edited.
  26. I wish the seminars/classes could be offered more often.
  27. I would be happy if the journal could be more frequent but I understand that is probably cost prohibitive
  28. I would like to see even more in the journal since in the last few years it is difficult for me to come to seminars. Or, maybe have regional meetings/seminars?
  29. If we had CW meet separate from Convergence we could have more time meeting people. I found it was so rushed, but perhaps I am getting older and that is the factor.
  30. If you are using the Internet, can the patterns that members contribute be downloadable right into their weaving programs?

  31. I'm afraid if CW grows too big, it becomes less attractive to me, because I like that CW's emphasis is on WEAVING! The only exception would be weaving related textile tours.
  32. I'm in south Florida. Most of more advanced guilds are in CA and the Northwest. Maybe CW members could mention on the website if they could house us and give us airport transportation to and from some of the 3-4 days seminars with topics of interest to CW members. Also just listing those seminars on the website or with links.
  33. In your questions about the future, I would like to offer the idea that the printed material stays in its current format, but that articles are available online in color. The American Tapestry Alliance has taken this format, and I find it quite enticing. It's exciting to see works in color without the expense of a color journal.
  34. Is the possibility of an electronic journal being considered?
  35. It would be nice if CW could pay the editor of the Journal and the authors of articles, at least a small amount. I think the Peter Collingwood DVD is wonderful!
  36. It would be nice if seminars could be held yearly - in the "off year" from convergence at a location at the opposite side of the US from the previous one.
  37. I find it hard to take enough time off work to attend the seminars and a conference at the same time so would be more likely to attend seminars not associated with a conference.
  38. It would be nice, but more work, if the study groups would occasionally publish a more lengthy, polished article rather than just the short pieces from individuals that are now published.
  39. Just thanks that you publish the coloured version of the Journal on the website. If most people have the facility, perhaps we don't need to have the paper version in colour.

  40. Keep up the good work. I would still like to see the journal in color. Black and White does not do justice to the artwork!
  41. Local chapters...but then we have the guilds. Problem is I have to drive 50 miles to a guild meeting now.
  42. Mentoring by more experienced weavers
  43. More emphasis on regional meetings.
  44. More in-depth articles in the Journal. Increase attendance count for advanced/computer-aided seminar sessions. I am wait-listed for 2 for 2010 and am very unhappy.
  45. More online information
  46. More registration spots for conference!
  47. More spaces available at the seminars
  48. More study groups for intermediate weavers. A program provided to these members that involves an exchange between experienced and developing weavers. Providing a course of study that could be followed designed to instruct and inspire intermediate weavers.
  49. More workshop/seminar presentations to provide enough for all who wish to attend space to participate.
  50. My thought is more frequent small regional gatherings, but realistically, I doubt most of us would have the time to attend....

  51. Online newsletter
  52. Perhaps a service connecting those who want to study a topic with a mentor (in addition to the study groups)? Something like HGA's TLC program.
  53. Perhaps expand CW Seminars to include workshops as an option.
  54. And perhaps small Seminar weekends regionally.
  55. Regional meetings
  56. Regional seminars
  57. Regional Seminars
  58. Regional seminars in conjunction with regional conferences
  59. Sponsor/arrange one or two advanced classes at regional conferences. I would like to see CW more visible to non-members and most conferences don't have much for advanced weavers.
  60. Study Group in color and weave

  61. Study groups in Small Areas of the country, so they could get together within that area, maybe twice a year.
  62. The ability to pay online for membership dues, library, etc. PayPal works grand. I don't use credit cards, so PayPal allows direct access to my bank account. You get paid instantly. No postage, etc. Or another method so we could do direct pay. Far as that's concerned, it might be worth having the journal come via internet (.pdf perhaps). It might save some money. The big problem on that is for those who have slow connections - like in Europe. The big thing for me is that I could pay directly without sending dues, etc via snail mail.
  63. The Journal in PDF format with color and save the money of printing for all who choose such an option
  64. The journal is of great value to me. There are few publications for multishaft weaving.
  65. The possibility paying the study groups with a credit card.
  66. Too new to suggest anything at this time.
  67. Traveling exhibits, canned guild programs
  68. Weaving challenges
  69. What other services would you like Complex Weavers to offer?
  70. Yearly conference rather than bi-annual.
