Georgean Curran

CurranG_OGeorgean started spinning 35 years ago, and weaving not too long after. This was after spending most of her life in fiber of one sort another starting with crochet at age six. Crochet was followed by knitting and tatting, and then bobbin lace which was just about the time she started spinning. Georgean belongs to Archne and Moonspinners in the Puyallup/Sumner area, the Seattle guild, NWRSA, Lacemakers of Puget Sound, and Complex Weavers.

Blended Drafts

Georgean Curran - Blended Draft420 Sunday PM

Learn how to blend two different weave structures in such a way that either of them can be woven separately on the same warp.  Blended drafts are not combined weaves in different areas of the warp, and not double weave with different weaves on each side of the cloth.  Weave an article such as a towel or table runner with the body in one weave, such as huck, and bands of another weave, such as overshot.  Or, weave a number of different items on one long warp, each with a different weave structure, without having to re-thread your loom.

Participants need to bring pencil and eraser.  This seminar is a hands on learning experience with lecure first and then apply the lecture to threading, tie up, and treadling.
