[CW Journal] [Library] [Directory] [Compilations] [Awards]
Our members have more than 75 different brands of looms. Loom types include draw looms, opphamta looms, velvet looms, jacquard looms and selfbuilt and designed looms. Many members have computer aided looms (CAL), and use more than 15 different weaving programs.
Many of our members are equally fascinated by warp weighted looms, cardlooms, backstrap looms and braiding looms. All this equipment reflects the wide range of interests that our members have.
The list of interests and techniques is so eclectic that it defies easy categorization. By looking at members interests in the Directory under C; we find that the interests range from crepe, custom yardage, compound looms, Coptic weaving, card weaving, crackle, color and weave, color, coverlets, clothing, and computer aided design. That is just for the C's.
The CW Journal is published 3 times a year, February, June and October. It is about 50 pages long and there are three or more articles which cover some aspect of complex weaves in each issue. Announcements of various events and news about the organization are regular features. Book reviews are included frequently and profiles of our members is a regular column.
The Directory is your contact with other complex weavers. It is published in January of odd numbered years. It contains all kinds of information and interesting facts about our members. Did you know that we have people who are interested in old weaving manuscripts, old looms, old drafts, opphamta, overshot, old coverlets, oriental braids, and outerwear. You could find someone with an interest similar to yours.
Want to find all the members who own a Nadeau loom? Or someone who knows something about manifold twills. All these are topics that are found in our Membership Directory. Join us and you too can find and be found.
If you would like to correspond with someone who has a loom like yours, or someone with similar interests, contact
Membership Chair.
Membership lists are for private use by members only.
