Join us for a trip to the museum and collections of Winterthur in Delaware. Plan on visiting the museum, bookstore, and gardens. Linda Eaton, Curator of Textiles, will meet us and provide a special tour of some of the holdings, which include the collection of Marguerite Davison.

Departure will be promptly at 6:30 a.m. from the 4-H Center. Expect an approximately 3-hour drive, depending on traffic. A stop will be made en route at a highway rest stop for coffee, etc.  If you wish, you may purchase lunch in the restaurant at Winterthur.

The return departure will be around 3:30 p.m. in order to allow  you time for dinner at the 4-H Center before moving on to the Keynote event that evening.

Participants on this tour will be able to sign in for the conference on Tuesday evening.  Individuals must contact the 4-H Center directly to arrange for housing on Tuesday evening.  The Center will honor our rates for the conference.

Join fellow conference attendees for a museum crawl. A bus will leave the 4-H Center at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday and drop people at requested museums on the National Mall. Admission to most museums on the Mall is free.

At 2:30 p.m., the bus will collect you and continue to the Textile Museum. There, we will hear Ann Rowe, a former curator of the museum and currently Research Associate for the Western Hemisphere, lecture on her research concerning the use of complementary warps in Ecuador.

Following the lecture we hope to offer a light reception and tour the current exhibition Dragons, Nagas and Creatures of the Deep.
